FARNBOROUGH, Hampshire, England (July 12, 2016) – Pemco World Air Services (PEMCO) is proud to announce it has been named a preferred MRO service provider of the MRJ aircraft by Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation. As an alternative solution for airlines performing airframe MRO in-house or through an outsourced third party, Mitsubishi Aircraft and PEMCO will offer airframe related MRO services to North American MRJ customers, such as applicable letter and heavy checks, structural repairs, modifications, and warranty work. It is the intent of both companies to provide best-in-class services, improved efficiencies, and cost advantages to MRJ aircraft operators.

“Attention to detail throughout the entire MRO process and a focus on not just meeting, but exceeding customers' expectations, that's what appealed to us about PEMCO,” said Peter Turner, Deputy Head of Customer Support Division, Mitsubishi Aircraft. He added, “These qualities reflect and align with our principals of customer support that we are implementing throughout our organization as we prepare for entry into service.”

PEMCO was chosen following a rigorous selection process by Mitsubishi Aircraft that encompassed the review of the company’s operations and standards. PEMCO operates following a strict set of metrics, available to all employees, that is constantly measuring the company’s performance at the aircraft and transaction level.

“We are honored for the opportunity to partner with Mitsubishi Aircraft and to be able to provide quality MRO services to MRJ operators in North America,” said Pastor Lopez, PEMCO CEO. “It was clear that both companies’ focus on quality service and Lean processes made our partnership a great fit.”

The MRJ has received over 400 aircraft orders, including options and purchase rights. Mitsubishi Aircraft plans to deliver the first MRJ aircraft in mid-2018 to launch customer All Nippon Airways. PEMCO is prepared to handle MRJ aircraft maintenance following entry into service, and will continue to provide quality service, customer support, and outstanding on-time rates to all its’ customers.
