Aviall Addresses EU-REACH Compliance for Chemical Distribution

July 12, 2016
Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) requires companies manufacturing or importing certain chemicals into the European Union be in full compliance with REACH regulations

DALLAS, TX July 12, 2016 – Aviall, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, has introduced its initiative to address the European Union’s Regulation for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) compliance program. REACH, which seeks to protect human health and the environment from the risks associated with the production and use of chemical substances, requires companies manufacturing or importing certain chemicals into the European Union be in full compliance with REACH regulations.

REACH also addresses the continued use and import of substances of very high concern (SVHC) and will cease or limit the use and production of such substances as sunset dates are reached as part of its legislation.

“Ensuring Aviall is REACH compliant is a top priority within our business,” said Aviall President and CEO Eric Strafel. “Through our Global Product Stewardship team, we continue to evaluate our compliance to REACH standards and implement risk mitigation measures as appropriate.”

Aviall continues to assess and evaluate its REACH compliance initiative through its Global Product Stewardship team to mitigate risks associated with REACH-impacted materials. Furthermore, Aviall is dedicated to meeting all REACH regulations and upholds internal and external compliance as a top business priority.
