Instrumental to the continuation of this process is having the right people in-country with local expertise to work with regulators, industry, and the media. AsBAA is operated by a group of diligent volunteers, collaborating to deliver on shared objectives. We’re delighted to have Rocky Zhang and Greg Martin on board and we have every confidence that the implementation of expanded in-country leadership will make a big difference to AsBAA’s local influence in market.”

The announcement of Mr. Zhang comes ahead of the next mainland China regional committee meeting, 21 June, held at Embraer Executive Jets, Beijing. AsBAA Board of Governor and current mainland China lead Ty. He said, “AsBAA has made great strides in the last two years, it’s now vital to keep up the momentum and continue to drive the business aviation agenda on behalf of the industry in Greater China. The appointment of Rocky is very much part of that strategy, he brings a wealth of public affairs and business development expertise to the table, which will help with increasing AsBAA’s influence in China.” Mr. Zhang is currently Vice President of Government Affairs at Textron China, responsible for government affairs & business development. AsBAA Vice Chairman, David Best said of Greg’s new appointment to the BoG, “We’re very pleased to have Greg join the ranks in Southeast Asia. AsBAA entirely recognises the diversity of Southeast Asia as a region and therefore the need for country specific (not just regional) expertise, not a one-size fits all approach.  We also understand that Thailand represents a complex series of opportunities and challenges, and as such is a geographical area in which AsBAA needs to grow our influence and activities. With an increasing group of AsBAA members now active or expanding operations into region, the addition of local leadership resource will be of significant benefit. We welcome Greg to the AsBAA team!”

The announcement of Greg to the Southeast Asia AsBAA Board of Governors comes ahead of the inaugural AsBAA Malaysia Chapter Meeting meeting at Skypark FBO Malaysia, Tuesday 28 June.
