Souther Field Aviation Joins Air Race Classic

June 15, 2016

Phillips 66 Aviation branded FBO, Souther Field Aviation Inc., is participating for the first time in the all-female Air Race Classic, as an en route stop on this year’s course. This year marks the 40th anniversary for both the race and the establishment of Souther Field Aviation, which opened its doors to pilots in 1976 at Souther Field (KACJ).

The 2016 race includes 55 teams made up of 130 women pilots from around the country. The 2,716-mile race begins Tuesday, June 21, in Prescott, Ariz., and ends June 24, 2016, in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Located in Americus, Georgia, Souther Field Aviation will be the final stop before the finish line in Daytona Beach.

The 40th anniversary race route honors collegiate aviation programs across the nation. Racers will stop at KAJC in Americus, home to South Georgia Technical College  and fill their aircraft with Phillips 66 Aviation fuel at Souther Field Aviation, a full-service FBO.

“We are so proud to participate in the historic Air Race Classic,” said Frankie Williams, owner, Souther Field Aviation. “For the past 40 years our FBO has prided itself in providing quality fuel, the best service and quick turns for all pilots. This year’s racers will surely appreciate our speedy service, sending racers swiftly back on their way to the finish line in Florida. We wish all pilots the best of luck in this year’s race.”
