The work of the AsBAA Student Chapter has been very successful in China, where we have seen our students connect with industry and also Orbis for work experience, so we can see this model working. We are delighted to launch the Singapore Student Chapter, and hope it can be successful in raising the awareness of the benefits of our industry as a job creator, as well as creating opportunities for young people in Asia.”

The series of presentations which will be made available to AsBAA members included a session exploring the less commonly known areas of of BizAv and GenAv such as humanitarian and emergency services, and leisure industries. This then led into a presentation from AsBAA’s chosen charity, Orbis Flying Eye Hospital. The charity joined the Student Chapter to share its inspiring news of the completion of the fully equipped mobile Eye Surgery hospital inside an MD-10 with two full surgical theatres on-board. The announcement of the outstanding new flying eye hospital comes ahead of the upcoming Icons of Aviation Awards, 6 November in Hong Kong in support of the charity and the announcement of an AsBAA & Orbis contest for members to become part of aviation history by visiting the only flying eye hospital coming to Asia this Autumn.
