the theme for the 2016 Auburn Air Fair is “Uniting the Generations” and will be held in Placer County this year on Saturday, October 8, 2016.

Auburn, Calif – Often referred to as “Thunder in the Sky” The biannual Auburn Air Fair is being produced by a new committee of volunteers the theme for 2016 is “Uniting the Generations” and is one of the most-exciting and family-friendly events held in Placer County this year on Saturday, October 8, 2016.

Auburn’s Home Town Hero and Congressional Gold Medal Honoree and Triple Ace P-51 Pilot, Col. Bud Anderson will be a featured presenter telling dog fighting stories, showing his PowerPoint about his military service in WWII being held in Harvey and Inger’s Lundershausen’s Hanger amid a backdrop of a hand painted aviation mural depicting the history of aviation from a balloon ride and the Wright Brother’s Wrightflyer to the Space Shuttle Program and every important aviation event in between along with his very own P-51, “Old Crow”. He will be signing copies of his book, “To Fly and Fight, Memories of a Triple Ace”.

To experience the history of aviation, tour the planes in the static display area and climb inside a Cargo Plane;

To see over 50 vintage cars at the car show and see many WWII Jeeps and retired military equipment;

Did we mention, Kids 10 and under are free and so is the parking;

To experience the dog fighting story of WWII Triple Ace P-51 pilot and Auburn’s Hometown Hero, Col. Bud Anderson, at 94, he is one of the most celebrated, decorated and sought after WWII speakers in the world. He frequently travels to Europe, Hawaii, Florida, Washington DC, and Oshkosh Wisconsin to tell his story. Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to see him in person.
