Clinton, MO – May 19, 2016 – Aviation Fabricators (AvFab) has received Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) validation from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for the installation of AvFab’s high density seats, aft jump seats and medical stretchers in specified models of Beechcraft King Airs.
“These three STCs will provide Chinese operators with utility-enhancing options for what is already the most versatile turbine aircraft. AvFab pursued the STCs to support and enhance the first King Airs operating under Part 135 in China. The high density seats are ideal for China’s growing number of Beechcraft King Air regional commuter aircraft. The robust, lightweight seats allow for additional passengers in a variety of seating floor plans used in the King Air series. The aft jump seats allow one or two additional passengers to sit in the aft baggage area of the King Air next to the doorway. These lightweight seats fold down from side-wall of the aircraft to add seating and fold up to add storage when baggage space is needed.
The STC-approved kits come complete with everything needed for installation including the seats, the complete restraint system, the floor board (if needed) plus all fittings, brackets, hardware, life vests, overhead lights, vents and oxygen drop downs along with comprehensive installation instructions. The client can customize the seats by upholstering them and painting the frames to match the rest of the interior.
The medical stretcher provides a lightweight platform for transporting non-medevac patients. No airframe modifications are necessary. Existing seats/furnishings are removed and the stretcher is then placed on the existing seat tracks at the desired location. The newly approved seats and stretchers are in stock and available immediately.
