Enrique Mendez, RA, AIA, joined HNTB Corp. as aviation project director–architecture and associate vice president. He is based in the firm’s Dallas office and will serve as the firm’s Southwest Airlines client service leader for airline integration assignments.

Mendez brings nearly 40 years of experience in professional design, construction, capital improvement and capital program management. His architectural expertise includes project and program development, team direction of corporate-private projects and stakeholder program objectives.

Mendez, most recently with Southwest Airlines’ corporate facilities, has managed funding, design, construction and closeout-commissioning of large, multimillion and multibillion-dollar airport facilities in the U.S., including Los Angeles International Airport, Dallas Love Field and Miami International Airport. Prior to that, he was with American Airlines where he served as project manager on the $1.3 billion John F. “Enrique brings a unique perspective to HNTB’s aviation architecture practice, having worked on many of the country’s highest profile projects,” said HNTB’s Chris Migneron, AIA, Kansas City architecture practice leader and vice president. “With a resurgence of aviation work around the country, HNTB is committed to providing our clients with the industry’s top talent and expertise. Enrique is a vital addition toward that mission.”
