California State University, Los Angeles Forms NATA’S Inaugural Student Chapter

May 1, 2016
Students working toward bachelor’s degrees in Aviation Management are the first to benefit from NATA’s new College Chapter program.

Van Nuys, CA, April 29, 2016 – California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA), which offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Administration, is the first to join the National Air Transportation Association (NATA) College Chapter program. Sponsored by the Aeroplex/Aerolease Group, the College Chapter provides students valuable resources, access to experts and networking opportunities to advance their future aviation careers.

“We’re excited to provide students with new opportunities to gain practical, hands-on experience from experts in the aviation business industry,” said Aeroplex/Aerolease Group CEO and NATA Board Member Curt Castagna. “By partnering with other aviation companies and trade organizations, we can successfully introduce students to the diversity of careers available behind-the-scenes at airports—from FBO management, sales and finance to aviation law and engineering.”

NATA College Chapters provide numerous student-only savings and advantages, including leadership opportunities, scholarships to attend the annual NATA Aviation Business Conference, complimentary access to Aircraft Flight Coordinator Training through Safety 1st, and more.

“We are excited and appreciative of the investment NATA is making to support the development of aviation students and provide invaluable exposure to general aviation businesses,” stated Randall D. Berg, A.A.E., airport director at King County International Airport/Boeing Field, adjunct professor at CSULA and the immediate past chair of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).

In addition to having direct contact with NATA members representing a wide range of aviation businesses, student members can post their resumes on www.nata.aero, view current job and internship postings, receive NATA News and other industry updates, access the member directory and attend NATA events.

“NATA welcomes the Aviation Administration students in the Technology Department at California State University, Los Angeles to our College Chapter Membership Program,” said NATA President and CEO Thomas L. Hendricks.  “We’re pleased to afford student members the ability to network with aviation business leaders and keep updated on issues affecting the industry. I am thrilled to see this program gain traction.”
