MILWAUKEE (April 15, 2016) – Frontier Airlines is celebrating the launch of new nonstop routes from Milwaukee to Atlanta and Dallas/Fort Worth.

Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele joined Frontier officials to launch new nonstop service from MKE to Atlanta this morning.  Yesterday, Frontier began new nonstop service from Milwaukee to Dallas-Fort Worth.  On June 2, Frontier will start another new nonstop to Philadelphia.

“These new routes show how important it is for Milwaukee travelers to choose MKE when they book their airline tickets.  The best way to recruit more service to Milwaukee is to support our local airport,” County Executive Abele said.  “Starting your trip from MKE sends a clear message to airlines that we have the demand to support even more service.  This is important because each large aircraft flight generates $19 million in annual economic benefit to the Milwaukee region.”

Introductory fares start as low as $20 each way, but must be booked by the end of today.  The new routes are in addition to Frontier’s existing nonstops from MKE to Denver, Las Vegas, Orlando, and Fort Myers.

Mitchell Airport offers nonstop flights to 37 destinations coast-to-coast, and 160 international destinations are available from Milwaukee with just one connection.  MKE is also served by Alaska, Air Canada, American, Delta, OneJet, Southwest and United.  The nonstop cities map can be found atwww.mitchellairport.com.

General Mitchell International Airport is owned by Milwaukee County and operated by the Department of Transportation, Airport Division, under the policy direction of the Milwaukee County Executive and the County Board of Supervisors. The airport is entirely funded by user fees; no property tax dollars are used for the airport’s capital improvements or for its day-to-day operation.
