Air Trek Event to Benefit the Homeless

Feb. 16, 2016

There's a new star on the Charlotte Harbor social circuit this spring.

A collaboration between Dana Carr of Air Trek Aircraft Charter and Jimmy Dean of Harbor Style Magazine has resulted in a bright, new luxury boutique event unlike anything ever seen in the region. Wings, Wheels & Wine will be an experiential weekend of ultra luxury, with 100 percent of ticket sales going to a local organization of much importance, The Homeless Coalition Foundation.

Planned for March 5, with an additional event the following morning, the Wings, Wheels & Wine will bring together numerous luxury entities at the Punta Gorda Airport hangar-home of Air Trek. Guests will be treated to an intimate evening of socializing amidst a setting of jets, yachts, sports cars and diamonds.

Situated among Air Trek Aircraft Charter’s fleet of jets will be a shiny new McLaren 730S. Dimmitt Automotive Group of Tampa, the McLaren dealer for Florida's west coast, will be represented by Matt Jones, an authority on the McLaren line of sports cars, who will share his knowledge one on one with McLaren fans.

There will be luxury water vessels as well. Image Yacht Charters and MarineMax of Fort Myers will display a million dollar Sea Ray Yacht for patrons to examine up close, plus the luxury yacht Fiesta Forever, a 76-foot Lazzara, will be berthed at Fishermen's Village and will host all guests for a Dockside Cocktail Party the following morning. One lucky patron will win the opportunity to join Captain Brandon Flaherty aboard Fiesta Forever for the return trip to Fort Myers. Patrons will also be invited to examine offerings from other luxury brands like Viking River Cruises. Complementing this evening of luxury will be some select diamond creations and other one-of-a-kind sparkling baubles from Dunkin’s Diamonds.

Patrons will enjoy tasting stations with light bites from Hurricane Charley’s while sampling fine wines. Throughout the evening, guests will be entertained by Rob Satori, who will be providing a club-like atmosphere. Sights and Sounds from Sarasota will use lights and magic to transform the hanger into a hip nightclub for the evening.

The event is the natural evolution for an event Carr has hosted for the past three years, Wine, Jets and Chocolate. This year, with the cooperation of Harbor Style Magazine, the event has grown to become a regional gathering of luxury brands. "We're delighted to partner with Jimmy Dean and his team to help highlight the unusual level of high quality offerings in the region," Carr said. Harbor Style serves the entire Charlotte Harbor market with special strength among the higher, luxury level consumer demographics. "Dana has started an event that I believe has the potential to become a really special evening" said Dean, "and with the solid partners we've attracted – Dimmitt, Image Yacht Charters, MarineMax and Dunkin’s Diamonds – it's a new high-water-mark for the area. Plus Dana's idea of making it a fundraiser for the Homeless Coalition Foundation is just perfect."

"We're blessed," Carr said. "The work the Homeless Coalition does is so important to our entire community.”
