EPCOR Extends Scope Of CAAC Approvals

Feb. 2, 2016
A total of 81 part numbers added to capabilities offered by EPCOR to China's aircraft fleet operators.

Paris, Amstelveen, 02 February 2016 - EPCOR, AFI KLM E&M's subsidiary specializing in MRO services for Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) and pneumatic systems, has seen its CAAC approval extended by the Chinese authorities after inspectors from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) gave their approval following an audit of EPCOR's latest capabilities.

A reliable alternative to OEMs on the Chinese market. With the extension of its CAAC certification, EPCOR can now offer its repair services to Chinese airlines covering a wide range of part numbers (P/Ns). Following the audit, a total of 81 new P/Ns were added to EPCOR's catalogue of MRO capabilities. These include the type of APU equipping the Boeing 787 (APS5000), as well as its air compressors, together with the APU types used on aircraft in the A320, Embraer 170/190, and A330/340 families, and the Boeing 777 and 737NG.
EPCOR Managing Director Dennis Wetjens said: "The extension of CAAC approvals is an opportunity for EPCOR to boost up its MRO services proposal designed for Chinese partners and, more generally, for all players in the Chinese aviation market. Our expertise in many areas, the experience we have built up on these products due to our integration into the AFI KLM E&M network, and the recognition of our capabilities by the Chinese authorities are all factors that contribute to ensuring that EPCOR is a credible alternative to OEM services for Chinese airlines."
