FlightSafety Promotes Alan Murray to Assistant Manager of the Atlanta Learning Center

Alan has been with FlightSafety for more than 15 years; he most recently served as Director of Training at the Atlanta Learning Center.

NEW YORK (January 14, 2016) - FlightSafety International announces that Alan Murray has been promoted to Assistant Manager of the company’s Learning Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Alan has been with FlightSafety for more than 15 years. He has served as a ground and simulator instructor, and also managed the Lockheed JetStar, Embraer EMB-120, Bombardier CRJ, and Learjet 60 pilot training programs. Alan was involved in the development of the Boeing Business Jet and Bombardier CRJ700 pilot training programs, and was the Quality Coordinator during the initial development of the Atlanta Learning Center’s Quality Management System. He most recently served as Director of Training at the Atlanta Learning Center.

He was in the United States military for 25 years prior to joining FlightSafety. Alan served as Commander of a Sikorsky UH-60 Battalion, for which he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. He has piloted numerous military aircraft including the Bell AH-1, Bell UH-1, Lockheed T-33, Martin EB-57, and Sikorsky UH-60. Alan was inducted into the Order of Daedalians.

Alan holds an FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate with numerous additional ratings for airplanes and helicopters. He is an FAA certificated airplane and helicopter flight instructor as well as an advanced and instrument ground instructor. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont, and did post graduate work in computer science at the University of Vermont and financial planning at Adelphi University. He also completed the United States Army Command and General Staff College and was named to the Commandant’s List for superior academic achievement.

The Atlanta Learning Center offers a wide variety of training programs for pilots, and aircraft maintenance technicians who operate and support Cessna Citation, Beechcraft, Bombardier, Embraer, JetStar, and King Air aircraft using a fleet of 16 simulators and other advanced training devices. Upcoming additions include the Cessna Citation Sovereign and a new King Air 350 simulator equipped with Pro Line Fusion avionics.
