Las Vegas, 18th November 2015 – New research(1) from Gama Aviation Plc (Stock GMAA: LSE) (Stand N2416), the global aviation services company, reveals that between 2010 and 2014, 2,774 business aircraft were delivered to the USA. This equated to 47% of the global total, with 5,849 business aircraft delivered worldwide during this period. Overall, more than half (52%) of the global medium to large private aircraft fleet is based in the US.

Thomas L. Connelly, President and CEO, of Gama Aviation’s US businesses commented: “The US business aviation market is by far the biggest in the world, and very dynamic.  It consists of over 23,500 aircraft, and we estimate that between 2010 and 2014, as many 46 business aircraft were being delivered every month, partly fuelled by market innovations such as our client Wheels Up. This growth provides us with a wonderful opportunity to gain further market share; building on our existing managed fleet of 95 aircraft and driving our maintenance service business”.

Dennis Richey, Executive Vice President, Engineering(2), Gama Aviation states:“We have quickly built a number of strategically sited facilities offering line maintenance and AOG services to accommodate the market demand.  Naturally we have been targeting areas that have the largest concentration of business jets including the north eastern states, Texas, Florida and California, ensuring that we have the support facilities in place for private owners and commercial fleets. In simple terms we offer the scale, breadth and depth that the market demands.”

This is no better illustrated than within the company’s mobile services team.  The team respond to around 2,500 call-outs every year, and have flown over one million miles and driven over 500,000 to support their clients.

Connelly continues: “We have created an excellent platform; building the scale, breadth and depth required by our clients. They want to deal with one trusted brand wherever they are in the US or indeed the world, and our aim is to make sure we deliver.”

The Gama Aviation brand has been operating in America since 2008 and offers a range of services from private and fleet management support and charter sales, to maintenance, parts and AOG support. Its management enjoy some 25+ years of experience in a variety of aviation disciplines.
