Hawkesbury, November 12, 2015 – DART Aerospace and Pall Aerospace are partnering with two of Canada's largest commercial helicopter operators to complete flight testing of their PA100 PUREair System in falling and blowing snow condition during the 2015-2016 winter. The PA100 PUREair System is already certified for use on Airbus H125, AS350 and H130 (EC130B4 and EC130T2) helicopters.
Helicopters operated by Mustang Helicopters Inc. in Western Canada and an East Coast operator will be on standby to complete certification flights when the appropriate weather arises.
Precise meteorological conditions are necessary in order to achieve the last test required to remove this restriction on the Supplementary Type Certificate (STC) for the PA100 PUREair System. Testing will meet both TCCA CAR 27 and FAA FAR 27 snow protection certification requirements. The PA100 has already been tested and approved for exposure to blowing and recirculating snow during takeoff and landing.
The PA100 PUREair System, co-developed by Pall Aerospace and DART Aerospace, is a totally redesigned, reengineered, and retested air protection system that is virtually self-cleaning and maintenance free unlike other barrier type air filtration systems qualified for these aircraft. The 4th generation PA100 PUREair System leverages the latest advances in Pall Aerospace technology, including 3D Computational Fluid Dynamics, optimized system design and innovative nano-material technologies to achieve optimal engine protection for harsh operating environments.
