StandardAero Signs Multi-Year Contract to Provide MRO Services for Air KBZ’s PW127M Engines on its Fleet of ATR72-600 Aircraft

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – September 18, 2015 – StandardAero recently signed a multi-year contract with Air KBZ, a top regional and the largest private airline in Myanmar, to perform customized maintenance, repair and overhaul services for PW127M turboprop engines on the airline’s fleet of ATR72-600 regional aircraft.  

The new contract covers services for both hot section inspections and overhauls with not to exceed guarantees for all the shop visits.  All engines will be serviced at StandardAero’s Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada facility and the company already has inducted its first Air KBZ engine in that facility for repairs.  The term of the contract includes MRO services through December, 2018.

Air Kanbawza, known as Air KBZ, was established in October, 2010 with the issuance of the Permit from the Myanmar Investment Commission, in accordance with Myanmar Investment Law and launched air transport services on April 2, 2011 after obtaining its Air Operator Certificate from the Department of Civil Aviation, Ministry Of Transport, Myanmar.  Based in Yangon (the Commercial Center of Myanmar), Air KBZ serves 14 domestic destinations and one regional destination to Chiang Mai, Thailand.  The airline is owned by Kanbawza Bank.
