PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mesa Airlines, Inc. today announced the promotion of Jeffrey Domrese, previously Director of Engineering and Planning, to the position of Vice President of Maintenance and Engineering. Domrese joined Mesa in January 2014 to develop the maintenance program for the Embraer 175 and to serve as the company’s FAA interface for successful certification of the aircraft. Mesa began operating the E175 in the United Express system in June 2014, and now has 30 aircraft in its E175 fleet.

Domrese has more than 30 years of aircraft maintenance experience, including 12 years with Republic Airways Holdings, serving as Director of Maintenance from 2000 until 2005 and as Vice President of Maintenance and Technical Operations from 2005 until 2012. His responsibilities at Republic included maintenance oversight for five airlines (Frontier, Chautauqua, Shuttle America, Republic and Midwest). He served as Manager of Reliability at PSA Airlines from 1994 until 1997. Domrese’s airline career began with American Eagle in 1988. He previously served as a C-141 Crew Chief in the United States Air Force from 1984 until 1988. He holds his Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License and attended Advanced Airframe and Powerplant training at Trident Technical College.
Since April 2013, Mesa has expanded its fleet with 30 new Embraer E175 aircraft, operating for United, and 19 Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft operating for American. By September 2015, seven additional factory-new CRJ900s will be in service for American. Deliveries are currently underway. In 2015, for the third consecutive year, Mesa Airlines’ Maintenance and Engineering Department was awarded the FAA’s prestigious Diamond Award of Excellence.
