OSHKOSH – July 20, 2015 – Avidyne Corporation, a leading provider of integrated avionics and safety systems for general aviation aircraft, announced today that a new version of their IFD-Series FMS/GPS/NAV/COM PC-based Simulator software is now available for download from their website. The updated PC simulator provides fully-interactive, free-play demonstration capability for the IFD540 and IFD440 including all the features of the recently-certified Release 10.1 IFD software.

“In addition to adding all the other R10.1 features, this is our first version of IFD simulator software that enables the use of the USB port on the PC, so now customers with an IFD540/440 can transfer settings between the PC and their actual unit in their aircraft,” said Dan Schwinn, Avidyne CEO. “This is not only beneficial for product familiarization, but also an easy way for pilots to create custom checklists, user settings, datablock configurations, and routes in the comfort of their home, then take them out to the airplane and quickly reconfigure their IFD with the exact same settings.”

This new software also allow users to run dual instances of the IFD540 or IFD440 or one of each at the same time, with full interaction between the two, emulating a dual IFD installation in the aircraft.

The R10.1 version of the IFD540/IFD440 PC Simulator is now available for free download from the Avidyne website at: http://www.avidyne.com/products/ifd540/demo-sim-signup.asp.

Avidyne will have a live demo station set up in their booth (#3130) during EAA AirVenture 2015 where IFD customers can create and download their own customized

settings files.

Avidyne will also have copies of the new R10.1 IFD Demo Software for PC on DVD disc.
