June 25, 2015
For travelers and convention goers alike, keeping mobile devices charged is easily achieved through the fast and convenient “ready-to-use” portable chargers that recharge mobile phones and other devices with no need for an electrical outlet to charge.

San Diego, Calif. –– June 25, 2015 –– Tricopian is pleased to announce the first international installation of its FuelRod portable mobile-device charging service at Switzerland’s Geneva Airport, the adjoining Palexpo convention center and at tri-national Basel EuroAirport.

Within the expansive airport in Geneva, seven of the FuelRod self-serve kiosks or “SwapBoxes” are available throughout the passenger terminals in addition to several located in the Palexpo convention center. For travelers and convention goers alike, keeping mobile devices charged is easily achieved through the fast and convenient “ready-to-use” portable chargers that recharge mobile phones and other devices with no need for an electrical outlet to charge.

Users simply walk up to the kiosk, select their language on the touchpad and swipe their credit card for a fully charged FuelRod. For just CHF 35, FuelRod can be recharged hundreds of times by the user or exchanged for a “fresh” unit at any FuelRod SwapBox for no additional cost.

“The FuelRod self-serve kiosks are a wonderful addition to our airport,” said Genève Aéroport CTO, Nicolas Gaspoz. “With millions of international travelers coming through our airport, we’re pleased to offer this innovative mobile charging service. The Geneva Airport prides itself on customer service with over 80 stores, service providers and restaurants open 24X7. By having the convenience of the FuelRod kiosks, travelers can charge their mobile devices on-the-go allowing more time to experience our wonderful amenities. In addition, part of our airport is powered by solar energy and the FuelRod portable chargers help to advance our energy conservation initiatives.”

Within the adjoining 108,000 square meter Palexpo convention center, visitors will also find the convenient FuelRod kiosks. Home to many global events, the recent 85th International Motor Show was held at Palexpo over 10 days with more than 680,000 in attendance. The FuelRod Kiosks were installed just days ahead of the show and were in place to support visitors as they arrived from around the world.

“Having our FuelRod self-serve kiosks in both airports in Geneva and Basel is a significant milestone for us,” said Thomas Meier, Managing Director of Tricopian (Switzerland). “The response has been tremendous and we look forward to expanding our global footprint providing easy mobile device charging at convenient locations throughout Europe.”

FuelRod chargers can fully charge a smartphone or greatly extend the use of most popular tablets. Available with quick-connect cables for both Android and Apple-based devices, the small FuelRod can be recharged using any standard USB outlet or quickly exchanged at any FuelRod SwapBox kiosk for a fresh, fully fueled, ready-to-use charger.

One FuelRod charger can deliver up to eight hours of additional talk time on the average smartphone, or nearly four additional hours of usage on the most demanding of tablets.  In addition to the Geneva locations and select U.S. airports and convention centers, mobile device users can purchase FuelRods online at www.fuel-rod.com. FuelRod can also be found on Twitter @FuelRodPower and on Facebook at FuelRodPower.
