Tricopian, headquartered in San Diego, is partnering with airports around the world to provide its innovative FuelRod portable mobile-device charging service

San Diego, Calif. –– June 9, 2015 –– The days of hunting for a wall outlet to charge portable devices at airports is finally coming to an end. Tricopian, headquartered in San Diego, is partnering with airports around the world to provide its innovative FuelRod portable mobile-device charging service. Port Columbus International Airport (CMH) is the latest airport to install the FuelRod kiosks that provide these grab-and-go portable chargers for its travelers. The FuelRod automated kiosk or “SwapBox™” offer travelers “ready-to-use,” portable chargers that recharge cell phones and other mobile devices without the need of an electrical outlet. The devices can be purchased quickly, and when depleted can be charged hundreds of times by the user or exchanged for a “fresh” unit at any FuelRod SwapBox.

FuelRod chargers offer enough power to fully charge a smartphone or greatly extend the use of most popular tablets. Priced at just $20, each FuelRod Kit includes connectors for both Android and Apple-based devices. Once used, the handy FuelRod can be recharged using any standard USB outlet or quickly exchanged at any FuelRod SwapBox kiosk for a fresh, fully fueled, ready-to-use charger – at no additional cost.

“We are very excited to have eight of the FuelRod self-serve kiosks throughout Port Columbus, including the rental car lobby,” said David Saleme, Business Development Manager of Concessions at the Port Columbus International Airport. “Travelers in and out of Columbus will appreciate the convenience of these portable chargers provided by our new FuelRod kiosks. Instead of being tethered to an outlet, our customers can now charge-up on the go in our airport, making it easier for them to take advantage of the many services we offer. In addition to the over 2,000 outlets terminal wide, FuelRod offers another convenient option for our passengers, ensuring no one has to hunt for an outlet or sit on the floor.”

“Since our first installation in San Diego, the feedback has been tremendous,” said co-founder, Joe Yeagley. “We’re very pleased to bring the FuelRod program to Port Columbus.  Access to our FuelRods gives travelers an easy and cost-effective way of recharging their portable devices reducing ‘charging anxiety’ as well as enhancing comfort and safety in the terminals.”

One FuelRod charger can deliver up to eight hours of additional talk time on the average smartphone, or nearly four additional hours of usage on the most demanding of tablets.  In addition to the Port Columbus locations, travelers can purchase FuelRods online at www.fuel-rod.com. FuelRod can also be found on Twitter @FuelRodPower and on Facebook at FuelRodPower.
