Shaping the future of business aviation: the PurePower® PW800 engine family

An unprecedented combination of power, performance and availability, the PurePower PW800 engine – P&WC’s latest innovation for next-generation large business jets in the 10,000- to 20,000-lb thrust class – is defining the future of business aviation with double-digit improvements in fuel burn, emissions, noise and maintenance times,

A key milestone in the development of the PW800 engine family was achieved on May 18, 2015 when the PW814GA engine successfully powered the first flight of Gulfstream’s new G500 business jet. This maiden flight represents a true leap forward in the future of high-flying, fast, long-range business jet travel. The PW814GA and PW815GA engines – the power behind the G500 and G600 long-range business jets – have received Transport Canada type certification this past February.

So far, the PurePower PW800 engine has achieved more than 3,700 hours of evaluation and over 7,700 cycles. This includes more than 90 flights and over 450 flight test hours on P&WC’s advanced Boeing 747SP flying test bed aircraft. Additionally, the PurePower PW800 engine’s advanced common core technology – leveraged in six Pure Power engine applications – has amassed over 18,000 testing hours in total. Dependable power for long-range, large cabin business jets: the PW300 engine family

Well-established in the 4,700- to 8,000-lb thrust class, the reliable PW300 is known for its low fuel consumption, environmental friendliness and economical operation. P&WC’s new PW307D turbofan engine – installed on Dassault Aviation’s new Falcon 8X, a three-engine ultra-long-range business jet – received Transport Canada type certification last May. This achievement follows the aircraft’s successful first flight in February. Trough technology enhancements that provide increased performance, efficiency and lower environmental impact, the PW307D delivers better takeoff thrust and improved fuel consumption compared to the PW307A engine, another member the PW300 family .

With 4 engine series and 13 models, the PW300 series has had more than 4,300 engines produced; together they have accumulated over 14 million flight hours. Built with the latest technologies to deliver highly dependable, fuel-efficient power, the PW300 offers low emission TALON™ combustion technologies and advanced shock management fan technologies ensuring clean and quiet performance. The full-authority digital engine control (FADEC) on all PW300 models provides reduced pilot workload and advanced engine health monitoring & diagnostics assuring a high standard of aircraft dispatch availability.

Making its mark in the fractional ownership market: the PW500 engine family

With low fuel consumption, the PW500 turbofan offers attractive operating economics and environmental friendliness to the market. A clean and clear leader in the 2,900- to 4,500-lb thrust class, the PW500 provides impressive maintenance intervals and easy on-wing maintenance in an airline-style business operation. Additionally, this engine offers high performance and an impressive reliability track record. Today, over 500 PW535E engines power the Embraer Phenom 300.

Just one year after its launch, over 100 customers have chosen to trust P&WC’s Eagle Service Plan (ESP®) Platinum program, P&WC’s new service coverage designed specifically for operators of the Dassault Falcon 7X aircraft powered by PW307A engines. Further to the success of this plan, P&WC is now offering the successful ESP® Platinum program to Dassault Falcon 2000 series aircraft, powered by PW308C engines.
