Dubai, May 11, 2015: German companies have continued their strong and valuable support to the Airport Show since its inception and their growing presence is appropriately reflected at the Germany Pavilion which is the biggest of the six country pavilions at the 15th edition of the iconic B2B platform at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, the event has attracted over 300 exhibitors from 40 countries and is expected to be attended by over 8000 industry professionals.

The show is taking place on a gross exhibition space of over 12000 square metres spread across three spacious halls. The world’s top-league airport industry B2B event is supported by Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), Dubai Airports, Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects (DAEP) and dnata, among others.

Strong backing came from German Airport Technology and Equipment (GATE), Danish Airport Group, British Aviation Group, British Airport Services and Equipment Association, Swiss Airport Suppliers, Netherlands Airport Technology, UBIFRANCE, UAE Society of Engineers, and Contractors’ Association.

This year, German Pavilion, 407 square metres, has 39 exhibitors, up from last year’s 396 square metres with 31 exhibitors. The 108 square metres-United Kingdom Pavilion features 16, making it the second biggest pavilion in terms of exhibitors. Last year, the UK Pavilion had 72 square metre exhibition space with 11 exhibitors.

Swiss Pavilion, measuring 165 square metres, has 14 exhibitors, up from 150 square metres and 12 exhibitors last year. French Pavilion, set up on 132 square metres, has 12 exhibitors, up from 102 square metres and 11 exhibitors last year.

Italian Pavilion, making its debut this year with a 162 square metres exhibition space, has 10 exhibitors. North America Pavilion has 11 exhibitors occupying 123 square metres of exhibition space, up from 93 square metres with six exhibitors last year.

The exhibitors at the country pavilions have unveiled several new technologies, systems and solutions for the aviation industry at the show. A number of meetings with Hosted Buyers have been arranged with exhibitors.

Daniyal Qureshi, Group Exhibition Director, Reed Exhibitions Middle East, organisers of Airport Show, said: “The strong interest among international aviation industry players clearly highlights their keenness to meet the requirements of regional decision-makers to source their requirements at their doorsteps.”

He added: “The continuing participation from key aviation manufacturing countries is proof that the Airport Show is seen by global suppliers as providing the most attractive access to lucrative airport development opportunities outside their regional/local areas. All country pavilions are supported by national trade bodies, which will assist visitors in developing important business ties. It is a win-win for both parties.”

This year marked the sixth successive year presence of French Pavilion at the show. It has been put up by UBIFRANCE, the French Agency for International Business Development to enable French exhibitors utilize the opportunity to introduce their diverse, innovative products and know-how to buyers from the entire Middle East and other regions.   North America Pavilion is present for the second successive year enabling US and Canadian companies to collectively showcase their products, services and solutions.

Country Pavilions provides support to smaller and medium-sized companies to access new markets, who would not have otherwise been able to come on their own. Having these pavilions means that visitors are able to see a wider portfolio of technologies and solutions on display at the show.

The authorities, project managers and contractors representing over $100 billion in regional airport developments over the next five years are attending this year’s show.

At the start of 2015, the Centre of Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA), said the total value of airport construction projects globally is worth $543 billion, of which Middle East’s share is $84.5 billion.
