Air France-KLM to Participate in 2015 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC)

The Air France-KLM group will showcase Air France’s new full flat, direct-aisle-access Business class seat, debuting in select US markets this year.

NEW YORK, N.Y. – APRIL 28, 2015 –   Air France-KLM will participate in this year’s Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), one of the largest oil and gas sector trade shows in the world, slated for May 4-7. The Air France-KLM group will showcase Air France’s new full flat, direct-aisle-access Business class seat, debuting in select US markets this year. The group will also speak about KLM’s new World Business class cabin, now available on the airline’s entire fleet of B747-400s, featuring sustainable touches crafted by top Dutch designer Hella Jongerius.

The Offshore Technology Conference was founded in 1969 by 12 engineering and scientific organizations as a response to growing technological needs of the global ocean extraction and environmental protection industries. As the offshore industry continued to grow, so did the stature and size of OTC reaching a peak attendance in 2014 of 108,300. OTC ranks among the largest 100 trade shows held annually in the U.S. and is among the 10 largest meetings in terms of attendance. 

Updates to All Air France Cabins Debuting in US Markets

Air France’s new products bring customers a more elegant and comfortable travel experience, with four redesigned cabins and updated amenities. These updates to all cabins are now gradually being introduced globally including select US markets on Air France Boeing 777-200 and 777-300 aircraft. The new cabins feature more comfortable seats with sleeker designs and enhanced personal, on-demand video entertainment. 

Travelers will discover the renovated Economy cabin, which offers optimum travel comfort. The new Economy seat provides an extra inch of legroom, wider HD video touch screens, individual power and USB ports, and a wider table tray. All passengers on long distance Air France flights can enjoy complimentary beer, wine, Champagne and spirits.

Air France Premium Economy is a unique, entirely separate cabin, located between the Economy and Business cabins. It provides 40 percent more space, in-seat power, SkyPriority check-in and boarding, and extra baggage allowance. The redesigned seat features an enhanced seat cushion for more comfort, larger tray table, and a multi-position footrest.

Air France Business class passengers also enjoy SkyPriority check-in, boarding, extra baggage allowance and lounge access. Onboard, passengers also enjoy gourmet dining, personal video and full-flat seats in the new “cocoon in the sky” design. The latest Business class seat reclines full flat to 180 degrees and provides 20 percent more space with direct-aisle access.

The luxurious La Première cabin brings VIP attention from the beginning to the end of the journey. During the flight, passengers are pampered with refined French dining and a state-of–the-art seat that converts into a real bed with mattress and duvet. La Première passengers have access to an exclusive lounge when connecting at or departing from Paris-Charles de Gaulle that features an elegant restaurant and spa. The latest generation of La Première is composed of four separate private suites each with 32 square feet of space, adjustable privacy curtains, a personal wardrobe closet and a 24-inch HD screen.

Air France has proudly served Houston for over 50 years. The airline operates daily, nonstop flights between George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle.

The new Business class seat will be exhibited at OTC from May 4 - 7 at the Delta-Air France-KLM-Alitalia booth #4963, located at NRG Center at NRG Park.

KLM in Houston

KLM’s new World Business class cabin with full-flat seat bed was introduced in Houston in January 2014 and is now available on the entire fleet of B747-400s.The airline offers daily year-round nonstop service between Houston and Amsterdam. KLM also offers an Economy Comfort zone located in the front of the Economy cabin where passengers can enjoy extra legroom and more space to recline.

Passengers traveling aboard KLM are able to make seamless connections at KLM's award winning Amsterdam-Schiphol hub to destinations throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Its user-friendly, single terminal design and vast array of shopping, dining and entertainment options makes it a favorite connection point for savvy travelers.

At Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport, the 1,115 square feet KLM Crown Lounge accommodates 98 eligible guests, providing a quiet place to work or relax. Open daily, the lounge is situated in Terminal D near Gate D8 offering passengers free Wi-Fi and dataports in every seat, cabins with computers and work space, a buffet with warm and cold snacks and beverages, a smoke-free environment and check-in facilities for transit passengers.

KLM passengers in all cabins including Economy enjoy individual video-on-demand entertainment and complimentary beer, wine, and spirits.

Flying Blue Petroleum Program

The group also offers its Flying Blue Petroleum program, an exclusive service created by Air France-KLM for oil and gas professionals to make travel easier and more enjoyable. Members enjoy select benefits, including priority check-in and complimentary meals and refreshments when waiting for connecting flights. The program is offered to all Flying Blue Petroleum members, regardless of their status in Flying Blue, the Air France-KLM frequent flyer program.
