The move is expected to position AIP and White Oak as the most complete and flexible luxury carpet provider and manufacturer in North America for the general aviation industry.

Wichita, KS - CAP Carpet, Inc. based in Wichita, KS, owner of Aircraft Interior Products (AIP) and White Oak Custom Carpet also based in Wichita, with additional manufacturing in Spindale, NC, is happy to announce the acquisition of Mountain Rug Mills and Spinning Wheel Rugs based in Hendersonville, NC. The move is expected to position AIP and White Oak as the most complete and flexible luxury carpet provider and manufacturer in North America for the general aviation industry.

“We are very excited to have the opportunity to acquire such a reputable specialty carpet manufacturer so close to our existing White Oak Plant in Spindale.” said Aaron Pirner, owner of CAP Carpet.  “Mountain Rug Mills represents a long history of in-house custom dyeing, hand-tufting, machine woven and pass machine capabilities, not to mention the amazing team of talented artisans with many years of experience in hand-tufting beautiful and fashionable carpets. This acquisition will permit us to provide a new level of unique unbeatable styling as well as improve our speed and quality of color match on yarn. No other supplier to the aviation industry will be able to offer as many carpet styling options as AIP, and the real benefit to the customer is faster service since everything, including hand-tufted will be made right here in the USA.”

Mountain Rug Mills has been manufacturing in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina since the 1940’s, and makes carpets and rugs for residential, commercial, aviation and yachts. Over the years, they have been entrusted with some of the most time and quality sensitive projects in the world for some of the most famous people and buildings in the world. One of their most notable projects involved designing and making carpets installed in The White House.

AIP established its roots in the private aviation business, supplying specialty wool carpets for major corporate aircraft clients. In 2009, AIP’s parent company CAP Carpet, Inc., purchased White Oak Custom Carpet. This union broadened AIP’s ability to provide qualities of exceptional design, precision and craftsmanship, while the meticulous needs of the aviation industry helped shape the synergies of the combined companies.

Their ability to design carpets with no pattern repeat, and offer expanded widths and lengths, allow them to create project-perfect pieces specifically engineered to complement each space. Their qualities can also be designed to feature over 250 pile heights, which allow them to reduce weight where you don’t need it such as underneath seats and add it where you do for added comfort.

Another great reason to look to AIP and White Oak is they manufacture everything right here in the USA.
