Award for TEC Transnational

April 22, 2015

Staff at TEC Transnational Ltd, the specialists in implementing manufacturing and quality systems, are celebrating after another one of their aerospace courses was certified by the International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA).

The two-day Aerospace APQP & PPAP - AS9145 course has been awarded IRCA Continuing Professional Development (CPD) approval, which means that IRCA certified Lead Auditors who attend the course will accrue all of the mandated 16-hours of CPD ‘structured’ training they need each year prior to the renewal of their Certified Lead Auditor certification. TEC’s latest 2-day public course held on the 21st and 22nd April 2015 was fully booked weeks in advance!

TEC’s award is timely, as the aerospace sector is introducing a highly structured and phased approach to new product introduction known as APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning). The stringent requirements will be specified in the soon-to-be-published AS9145 IAQG standard. The aerospace Primes and Tier-1s are likely to demand conformity with the AS9145 IAQG standard as part of their supplier approval process.

APQP is a phased project planning process applied to new product introduction. It mandates specific deliverables to ensure on-time, on-quality, on-cost objectives are met.

Suppliers will need to submit the results of their APQP formally to customers using PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) – before they can be authorised to supply products on a routine basis. APQP requires suppliers to demonstrate that they have established a production process that will consistently produce products meeting customers’ requirements – right first time, on time and at cost.

TEC Transnational has more than 15-years’ experience implementing practical APQP and PPAP systems in automotive, rail and aerospace sectors. The upgraded two-day course meets all of the requirements of AS9145 and includes a structured approach to APQP which incorporates process flow charts, control plans, design/process FMEAs, MSA (GR&R), FAIR, capability studies and SPC – culminating in the PPAP (Production Product Approval Process).

For companies requiring on-site implementation support, TEC Transnational offers a comprehensive APQP & PPAP Implementation Programme which combines consulting, on-site training and implementation support to ensure that the formal system is embedded into the AS9100 QMS and staff are empowered to operate the process and use the quality tools and techniques.
