Menzies Aviation head office in London launches the Safety & Security Focus Program for UK station managers.

Operations in the UK have seen significant changes in the last year, including a new Regional Management Structure. Even during periods of such widespread change, it’s important to keep our focus on our main priority: to deliver safe, secure and consistent performance across all our operations, every day.

Bob Newman - SVP Safety, Security & Compliance, Steve Rick - SVP Support Services, and the OSAC team held a workshop for UK station managers at the Menzies Aviation head office in London to launch the Safety & Security Focus Programme.

Bob Newman said, “From presentations by senior representatives of the Border Agency focusing on the serious consequences of breaches, to guest speakers from easyJet who provided a customer perspective, the workshop brought some thought provoking material that inspired healthy debate among the attendees.

“The delegates also participated in break-out sessions and were tasked with identifying root causes of issues that can impact safety and security performance at a station level, as well as solutions to overcome these challenges.”

At the end of the workshop, each station manager produced their personal Safety & Security Business Plan for 2015, and all of them have been approved by regional management. The plans will be monitored and fully put into practice throughout the year. Already, all stations have signed up to fully support the LEAD and e-Learning programmes among other local station initiatives.
