Ground handling division will expand its presence in the Asia-Pacific region, with the addition of Universal Aviation Philippines, an FBO joint venture with Asian Aerospace Corporation.

SHANGHAI, CHINA--(Marketwired - Apr 11, 2015) -  Universal Aviation®, the ground handling division of Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. (exhibit #H325), announced at ABACE2015 that it will expand its presence in the Asia-Pacific region, with the addition of Universal Aviation Philippines, an FBO joint venture with Asian Aerospace Corporation. The FBO is headquartered at Manila International Airport (RPLL) and will begin operating as Universal Aviation Philippines in May.

"We are continuing to strategically expand our Universal Aviation ground support network in the Asia-Pacific region, at challenging locations our clients frequently request," said Charlie Mularski, Regional Vice President, Asia-Pacific, Universal®. "As one of the fastest growing economies in the world, the Philippines is also seeing rapid growth for business aviation. Partnering with an established FBO operator such as Asian Aerospace Corporation, with more than 18 years' experience in the country, fits our expansion model and will allow us to better support our clients' critical missions to this strategic country."

Under the agreement, Universal Aviation will partner with Asian Aerospace to operate the recently renovated FBO at Manila International Airport, which will have Universal's employees and will adhere to the same consistent procedures, standards, and training protocols as all Universal Aviation locations around the world. The 24/7 location is the only FBO in Manila with a private 31 meter by 29 meter hangar (capable of fitting one Gulfstream G550) with roadside and ramp-side access. Universal Aviation Philippines will also have facilities available at Clark International Airport and Cebu International Airport, as well as supervisory ground handling capabilities all across the country.

"We're excited to work with a great partner like Universal Aviation that shares our sense of urgency in providing business jets and customers with the best service possible," said Peter Angelo Rodriguez, Jr., EVP, Asian Aerospace Corporation. "We look forward to working with them to enhance service levels on the ground and leveraging the network's global resources."

In addition to the dedicated private hangars with roadside and ramp-side access, Universal Aviation Philippines - Manila features include: a highly-skilled ground support team of trained employees, immigration and customs clearance available onsite (on aircraft or in FBO), five VIP lounges with views of the airport, private showers and pantry, crew accommodations, and immediate maintenance capabilities for Gulfstream, Learjet, and Pilatus Aircraft.
