TULSA, OKLA. (Thurs., March 5, 2015) – NORDAM and Airbus celebrated their partnership today and marked production of the 100,000th cabin window for the A320 family of aircraft during ‘Airbus Day’ at the NORDAM Transparency Division, 7018 N. Lakewood Ave.
“Today is about honoring the strong relationship we’ve developed with Airbus since 1997,” NORDAM CEO Meredith Siegfried told a gathering of stakeholders wearing commemorative T-shirts designed to present “a sea of Airbus blue” to attending representatives of the aircraft manufacturer, including vice president of procurement for Airbus Americas David Williams.
“We’ve been working together for nearly two decades, producing acrylic lenses and aircraft windows,” Siegfried said. “Over that time, we were able to build a strong reputation for performance, quality, and timely results. The A320 cabin window program, which was awarded in 2011, is validation of our hard work and the reason for our celebration today.”
Recognizing NORDAM as a valuable U.S. supplier, Williams said, “Airbus is very pleased in the manner NORDAM has responded to our needs for quality and competitive products. In a relatively short period of time, NORDAM has proven that our trust and business was well placed, reaching this first milestone of 100,000 passenger cabin windows for the A320. We look forward to working together for many more years.”
Senior Airbus leaders were on hand for the event, which featured an Airbus recognition ceremony and tours of NORDAM’s Transparency, Interiors & Structures, Thrust Reverser and Repair divisions.
In addition to manufacturing A320 aircraft transparencies, NORDAM is the North American repair station for the aircraft manufacturer, repairing proprietary flight-control surfaces used on the A320, A300-600 and A310 for customers throughout the global aircraft community. The firm’s Repair Division replaces Airbus elevator fittings and skin panels, housing Airbus-supplied tooling at its Pine Street and Highway 169 facility.
