MILWAUKEE (February 16, 2015) – Delta Air Lines will launch new nonstop service from Milwaukee County’s General Mitchell International Airport to Boston Logan International Airport beginning June 5.

“As we continue to modernize Mitchell Airport and provide a cost-effective facility, airlines like Delta are taking notice.  Delta is the second-largest carrier at Mitchell Airport and has a strong, loyal following in Milwaukee,” County Executive Chris Abele said.  “Boston complements Delta’s Milwaukee route map and gives our travelers another convenient option for traveling to New England.”

Delta’s new nonstop service to Boston will be operated with CRJ-900 dual-class jets, featuring 12 seats in first class, 12 seats in Economy Comfort and 52 seats in economy.

The new flights, which will operate six days per week, will depart Milwaukee at 7:10 a.m. and arrive in Boston at 10:26 a.m.  The return flights will leave Boston at 7:20 a.m. and arrive in Milwaukee at 9:02 p.m.  Introductory fares start at just $133 each way and can be found online at www.delta.com.

“Delta’s announcement comes on the heels of additional new service slated for 2015, including Alaska Airlines to Seattle and new Southwest nonstops to Dallas-Love and San Diego,” Airport Director Terry Slaybaugh added.  “It’s only February, but 2015 is already shaping up to be an exciting year for air service enhancements at Mitchell Airport.”

Delta already offers nonstop service from Milwaukee to Atlanta, Cancun, Cincinnati, Detroit, Minneapolis-St. Paul, New York LaGuardia, and Orlando.

Mitchell Airport offers nonstop flights to 37 destinations coast-to-coast – many on full-size mainline aircraft – and 160 international destinations are available from Milwaukee with just one connection.  MKE is also served by United, American/US Airways, Frontier, and Air Canada.  The complete list of nonstop cities can be found at www.mitchellairport.com.

General Mitchell International Airport is owned by Milwaukee County and operated by the Department of Transportation, Airport Division, under the policy direction of the Milwaukee County Executive and the County Board of Supervisors. The airport is entirely funded by user fees; no property tax dollars are used for the airport’s capital improvements or for its day-to-day operation.
