Smiths Detection's Elizabeth Pressnell Re-Elected Chair Of The Security Manufacturers Coalition

Elizabeth "Sissy" Pressnell, Vice President, Government Relations with Smiths Detection, has been re-elected for her third year as the Chair of the Security Manufacturers Coalition

Alexandria, VA. --Elizabeth "Sissy" Pressnell, Vice President, Government Relations with Smiths Detection, has been re-elected for her third year as the Chair of the Security Manufacturers Coalition. In this leadership position, Pressnell oversees the development of high priority coalition advocacy issues and initiatives, and ensures that the coalition goals are accomplished in an effective and timely manner. Patricia Krall, Senior Director, Business Development for L-3 Security & Detection Systems, has been elected as the coalition's new Vice Chair.

"Sissy has been a fantastic chair of the Security Manufacturers Coalition since 2013 because of her extensive experience and impressive expertise in the security technology sector and on Capitol Hill," said T.J. Schulz, Director of the coalition. "Her enthusiasm and insights have resulted in tremendous progress that the coalition has made during her tenure, including passage of legislation to increase government transparency and engagement with industry. Sissy will continue to ensure that the coalition thrives and affects positive industry change."

"Over the past three years the Coalition has established itself as the voice of the security technology manufacturing industry. We look forward to continuing and expanding that role in partnership with DHS agencies and other government stakeholders as the industry strives to address current and future threats to aviation and transportation." 

Pressnell is currently the Vice President for Government Relations for Smiths Group, serving as the liaison to Congress and all federal government stakeholders. With over twenty years combined Capitol Hill and related federal government relations experience, Pressnell has documented successes in homeland security, defense and other key areas as well as a strong understanding of the federal appropriations and authorization process.

The Security Manufacturers Coalition serves as the unified voice of companies that manufacture security screening technology and focuses on aviation and intermodal security issues in the U.S. and globally. Organized under the Airport Consultants Council (ACC), the Coalition addresses issues that most affect its member companies relating to funding and acquisitions, technology research programs, and international regulations and standards.
