Suncoast Air Center Joins Phillips 66 Aviation’s FBO Network

Jan. 6, 2015

Located within walking distance of The Gulf of Mexico is Suncoast Air Center, the only full-service fixed base operator (FBO) located at Venice Municipal Airport (KVNC). In November 2014 the FBO joined the Phillips 66® Aviation’s branded network.

Originally founded in October 2009, the FBO is owned and operated by Tristate Aviation Group of Florida, LLC. It’s the largest employer on the airfield with a total of 12 employees servicing the FBO and six mechanics managing the largest maintenance facility on the airfield, Suncoast Maintenance Center, a Cessna-authorized service facility.

“What makes Suncoast unique is the incredibly easy access for general aviation aircraft at KVNC, an uncontrolled airfield,” said Alexander Landry, managing director. “Additionally we have arguably one of the best cafés in the city of Venice located right inside of our FBO terminal. We waive facility fees for guests flying single engine piston aircraft who stop in for a bite.”

The location boasts more than 30,000 square feet of hangar space, and over six acres of tiedowns and apron area, servicing both piston and jet aircraft. The facility offers both full-service and self-service avgas, and the center recently purchased 2015 Jet A and Avgas trucks with state-of-the-art digital equipment. Future upgrades include an additional 2 acres of ramp/apron area and an additional high-tech maintenance facility.
