Continental Engines for Mooney Aircraft Receive Validated Type Certificate from Chinese Authorities

Continental Motors Beijing Co. Ltd. announces receipt of Validated Type Certificates for Continental Motors’ IO550G and TSIO550G engines from the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

Beijing, China, December 19, 2014—Continental Motors Beijing Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Continental Motors Group Ltd, an AVIC International Holding Corporation company announces receipt of Validated Type Certificates for Continental Motors’ IO550G and TSIO550G engines from the Civil Aviation Administration of China.  These engine models power the high performance Mooney M20 Series Acclaim Type S and Ovation 3 aircraft that are scheduled to start delivery in China before the end of 2014.

The legendary Mooney Acclaim Type S (TSIO550G) and Ovation 3 (IO550G)  represent the pinnacle of production single piston engine performance with industry leading top speeds of 242 ktas and 197 ktas respectively.  The engines are 6 cylinder, air cooled and fuel injected.
