BURLINGTON, VT—Burlington International Airport becomes even more international when Porter Airlines resumes its seasonal service from Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport on December 14, 2014.  The service between Burlington and Toronto will continue through the winter season until April 5, 2015.

This is Porter’s fourth year flying to Burlington, a popular destination for Canadian passengers looking to enjoy a season on the slopes. In turn, Vermonters can enjoy an easy getaway to a cosmopolitan Canadian city. The schedule of two weekly roundtrip options will increase to four options from February 13-April 5 to meet increased travel demand during the school break period.

“The City of Toronto is a perfect destination for both the business and leisure traveler,” said Gene Richards, Director of Aviation for Burlington International Airport. “Businesses have the opportunity to find and explore new market growth areas, while leisure travelers can enjoy Toronto’s numerous touristic attractions and events, such as the Hockey Hall of Fame, a Toronto Maple Leafs game or the Toronto Boat Show in early January.”

"Canada is Vermont's largest trading partner, source of tourists and closest neighbor.  Porter's service to Burlington is a perfect match for skiers, travelers and businesses," said Senator Patrick Leahy.  "I have been proud to work with the airline and the airport to establish this route, which helps bring the world to Vermont and Vermont to the world."

Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing Commissioner Megan Smith was optimistic that the resumed service would benefit both travel regions. “This has been a very successful partnership in previous years, and we look forward to hosting our northern neighbors again,” she said. “Vermont has an incredible array of spectacular ski areas, and Toronto is a multi-cultural, pedestrian-friendly city that’s easy to explore.”

Porter Airlines’ hospitality on the flight includes free Starbuck’s Coffee, free beer and wine, and a unique customer service experience. Travel time between Toronto and Burlington is less than an hour. Ski/Fly packages involving several Vermont resorts are available at www.porterescapes.com.
