CAAi Announce New Dubai SMS Courses for 2015

Dec. 4, 2014
The UK CAA courses, delivered in collaboration with the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), provide aviation professionals at all levels with a solid understanding of SMS in accordance with ICAO and EASA standards.

Following the success of the UK CAA’s first open-access training courses in Dubai, CAA International (CAAi) is returning to the United Arab Emirates in January 2015 with a series of Safety Management Systems (SMS) courses.

As one of the fastest growing aviation markets, the need for organisations to clearly understand the ICAO SMS regulatory framework is critical. Both Industry and Regulators must recognise how to implement, maintain and manage an effective SMS and how to evaluate SMS effectiveness. The UK CAA courses, delivered in collaboration with the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), provide aviation professionals at all levels with a solid understanding of SMS in accordance with ICAO and EASA standards.

The first 3-day course, ‘Basic Introduction to SMS’ takes place on 11-13 January. Through presentations and group discussions, delegates will explore safety management concepts and gain the skills to develop, implement, manage and assess a basis SMS.

For Safety Managers, Inspecting Personnel and those who need to assess the effectiveness of their own SMS, a 2-day ‘Advanced Safety Management’ course will take place on 14-15 January. Building on the foundations of SMS, this course will further delegate’s knowledge and provide a clear understanding of performance-based oversight.
