Top Google Executive Shares Innovations, Business Insights, More at Nov. 12 Presentation at EAA

EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wisconsin — (October 15, 2014) — Northeast Wisconsin businesspeople have a unique opportunity to learn proven ways to get and keep business when Darren Pleasance, Leader of Google’s Global Customer Acquisitions Team, opens the Experimental Aircraft Association’s new “Soaring for Success” speaker series on Wednesday, November 12, at the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh.

Pleasance will highlight some of Google’s renowned innovations, such as Google Glass, self-driving cars, Project Loon online access for rural and remote areas, and more. He will also focus on how Google’s teams work with companies in all industries to harness the power of digital marketing to attract, grow and retain customers. Pleasance will relate the lessons learned by Google to businesses of any size who seek to gain and keep customers, as well as how to build and retain great teams.

Prior to joining Google, Pleasance was based in Palo Alto, California, as a partner in the international consulting firm McKinsey & Company. He is also an EAA member who has more than 6,000 hours of flight time as a flight instructor, charter pilot, corporate pilot and Alaska bush pilot. Pleasance also is a board member for the International Aerobatic Club and served as president of the Northern California Aerobatic Club.

“Google is at the leading edge of innovation for technology and business, and what they’ve learned can be applied for nearly every business or professional,” said Mary Ann Dilling, EAA’s director of events and hospitality. “Darren Pleasance will give an insider’s look into these business growth techniques and innovations in a session right here in Oshkosh.”

EAA’s Soaring for Success educational experiences are designed to give area businesspeople access to some of today’s best and brightest within the business world. Speakers include those who are familiar to EAA and Oshkosh through their connections with aviation, but come from diverse areas of business that can directly benefit both large and small companies and organizations.

Tickets are now available for the event, which begins with 7:30 a.m. registration followed by an 8 a.m. hour-long program on November 12 in the EAA museum’s Eagle Hangar. The $35 per person registration includes continental breakfast, the presentation, a question-and-answer session with Pleasance, and a full day’s admission to the museum.
