TEMPE, Ariz.  – October 14, 2014 – Associated Air Center (AAC) inducted the company’s first Boeing 787-8 aircraft to be completed for a Head of State customer at AAC facilities located at Dallas Love Field.  The aircraft arrived on October 9.

AAC announced the contract award in January of this year and since that time has been performing planning, staffing, training, design, engineering, manufacturing and facility construction activities in anticipation of the aircraft’s arrival.  Monuments and furnishings for the interior configuration have already been completed ahead of the green aircraft’s arrival and will be ready for installation once the supporting structure, wiring, plumbing and sound insulation have been installed on the aircraft.  Interior design for the 787 program is being conducted by AAC's well-seasoned, in-house design team.

"The composite structure and advanced systems on the 787 require special engineering, tooling and technical capabilities – it’s a whole new ball game,” said James Colleary, President, Associated Air Center.  "Our team is up for the challenge and excited to have the aircraft in our shop where the real work now begins.”

The VIP-configured 787-8 offers 2,404 square feet (223.3 square meters) of cabin space and a range of 9,590 nautical miles (17,760 km).  AAC plans the redelivery of the completed aircraft by the end of 2015.
