Oct. 8, 2014
Offered as an upgrade for Generation 3 and newer SR-series aircraft, the system includes wheels, brakes, master cylinders, tubeless tires and wheel fairings with an easy access door.

Duluth, Minn (8 October 2014) Cirrus Aircraft today announced the availability of its Performance Braking System for operators of Generation 3 and newer aircraft from Cirrus Direct™. The new Performance Braking system is a high-performance, single-caliper brake system with tubeless tires and re-designed wheel fairings that enables owners to experience a new level of convenience, reliability and braking performance.

All 2014 Cirrus SR22T, SR22 and SR20 model aircraft currently come equipped with the new Performance Braking System. In addition to making this system available for Generation 3 and newer aircraft, Cirrus is continuing to work on a Performance Braking System upgrade for earlier model aircraft in the field.

“Exceeding our owners’ expectations is core to our mission at Cirrus,” said Todd Simmons, Cirrus Aircraft’s Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer. “This is true whether we are delivering new aircraft or improving the ownership experience for the nearly 6,000 operators of fielded Cirrus aircraft. The outstanding response to the new Performance Braking System from owners of 2014 Generation 5 aircraft made our decision to develop this system for our existing fleet an easy one.”

Performance, Reliability and Convenience

Offered as an upgrade for Generation 3 and newer SR-series aircraft, the system includes wheels, brakes, master cylinders, tubeless tires and wheel fairings with an easy access door. The Performance Brakes by BERINGER AERO use fluid technology designed to withstand higher temperatures, reducing fluid breakdown, and also feature an easily identifiable red temperature indicator. Tubeless tires, a familiar feature in the automotive world, provide peace of mind by reducing the risk of leaks and failures in the higher-stress aviation environment. The easy access door of the wheel fairings adds convenience to inspection and maintenance tasks.
