Iberia and Samsung have joined forces to offer customers something new on the market: the capability of storing boarding passes in wearable devices, the Samsung Gear 2 and Gear Neosmart smart watches. Passengers can now carry their boarding passes on their wrists along before boarding their flights.

This application can be downloaded from the Samsung Galaxy Apps store as the Iberia app  is compatible with Gear 2 and Gear Neo. Customers who have already downloaded the Iberia app should de-install it before downloading the compatible version. The Iberia app can also be used to send mobile boarding passes previously stored in the telephone to the smart watch.

“At iberia.com we are constantly incorporating new services and technologies. We believe that this innovative boarding pass will be very well-received by our customers,” said Miguel Ángel Henales, Iberia’s director of Digital Business.

“At Samsung we regard technology as an asset that allows people to live more comfortably and make their lives easier. Wearable devices are the great novelty that enable the user to deal with the notifications received on the smart phone worn on the wrist. Thanks to the agreement with Iberia, passengers with a Gear 2 or Gear Neo smart watch will have their boarding pass available on a digital support, facilitating the logistics of travel,” said Celestino García, a corporate vice-president of Samsung Electronics.
