Duncan Aviation Releases Updated Guide to Phased Interior Maintenance

Oct. 6, 2014

LINCOLN, NEB — Duncan Aviation has released an update to its popular Field Guide “How to Extend the Life of an Aircraft Interior: A DOM’s Guide to Phased Interior Maintenance.”

Parts of an aircraft interior will wear out long before the next complete refurbishment is due. Some essential maintenance is frequently overlooked, causing unnecessary damage and frustrations for passengers. A simple method keeps interiors looking new, helps them last longer and reduces long-term costs.

Nate Darlington and Matthew Scheppers, Duncan Aviation Completions Sales Reps, outline the concept of phasing interior repairs with regularly scheduled maintenance events that includes a cost comparison chart and a sample maintenance plan, all in an easy-to-read ebook.

According to Darlington, Phased Interior Maintenance (PIM) is a tool designed to assist operators with the planning and budgeting for aircraft interior maintenance. “The objective is to aid operators with the upkeep of their aircraft interior functionality and aesthetic appearance.”

“PIM provides operators with a plan that is unique to their specific aircraft interior. It is designed to run concurrent with airframe events,” adds Scheppers. He goes on to say the plan allows operators to budget for interior maintenance, giving them confidence that their aircraft interior is being maintained in a “like new” condition while extending the functional life of their interior.
