Work on the expansion is expected to begin in 2014. “This expansion will bring new engineering and service capabilities to our customers in the region and will enable Rockwell Collins do Brazil to pursue and capture more commercial and military programs,” said Nelson Aquino, managing director, Rockwell Collins do Brazil. The company’s service center in São José dos Campos has been critical for meeting local customers’ needs, including aircraft manufacturers Embraer and Helibras. Rockwell Collins do Brazil has increased its employee base in Brazil by 50 percent over the last three years, adding engineers, program managers, service technicians and business development personnel in order to better support customers, partners and programs in Brazil.
