MIAMI, Florida, August 5, 2014 – AAR (NYSE: AIR) has signed an agreement with SkyWest Airlines to overhaul landing gear on its fleet of 40 Embraer 175 commercial passenger jets. The contract builds upon AAR’s existing relationship and its experience servicing landing gear on the Embraer 120 family of aircraft for SkyWest Airlines. The work will be performed at AAR’s landing gear repair station in Miami.

The contract positions AAR as a go-to MRO for E-Jet landing gear. Last fall, AAR entered an agreement with Liebherr-Aerospace to provide landing gear maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for the Embraer 170/175/190/195 family of aircraft, enhancing AAR’s capabilities.

“Through our agreement with Liebherr-Aeropsace, we have access to the technical documentation database on these components, and have expanded our supply chain and spare parts capabilities as a result,” said Pastor Lopez, AAR’s Vice President of Aircraft Components and Landing Gear Services. “This new contract demonstrates customer trust in AAR’s vast landing gear overhaul experience.”

AAR was selected through a competitive bidding process based on various criteria including cost, the company’s broad experience with the E-Jet landing gear systems, its full-service Miami facility, and AAR’s record of quality control and quick turn times on even the most complex projects.

“AAR is a solid partner to SkyWest Airlines,” said Bill Dykes, SkyWest Airlines Vice President of Maintenance. “They’ve consistently delivered quality for us and we look forward to a continued strong relationship with them through this agreement on the newest member of the SkyWest fleet.”

AAR Landing Gear Services is just one resource in AAR's 1MRO service network of solutions for commercial airlines worldwide. AAR offers a comprehensive range of products and services extending to heavy maintenance, landing gear and component repair services, as well as parts supply and support. AAR is the No. 1 provider of MRO services in North America and one of the top three in the world, according to industry rankings.
