Pratt & Whitney Canada announces Women in Engineering Scholarship at EAA AirVenture 2014

The $10,000 scholarship is open to any woman pursuing a higher education degree in engineering.

During the second annual WomenVenture Power Lunch, which took place during EAA AirVenture 2014, Pratt & Whitney Canada announced the creation of The Pratt & Whitney Canada Women in Engineering Scholarship.

 “As a long-time collaborator of women in aviation initiatives, Pratt & Whitney Canada is proud to team up with WomenVenture this year at EAA AirVenture and offer the first ever Engineering Scholarship, said Denis Parisien, Vice President, General Aviation, Pratt & Whitney Canada. “Pratt & Whitney Canada recognizes that scholarship awards are a major benefit for students who want to pursue their education and advance into aviation and aerospace careers. While we are constantly investing in developing next generation products, we equally believe in the importance of supporting the next generation who will contribute to the development of our industry.”

The Pratt & Whitney Canada $10,000 (US Dollars) scholarship is aimed at women studying engineering. This unique opportunity is open to any woman pursuing a higher education degree in engineering. Participants must either be currently enrolled in an engineering program or accepted into an engineering program at an accredited University or College. This scholarship is open to International candidates. All funds are in US Dollars. Participants must currently have a GPA of 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent at the time of application, either in High School or their current engineering program. Recipient of the scholarship will be expected to maintain a GPA of 3.3 and be enrolled full-time in an engineering program. Special consideration will be made for applications majoring in Aerospace Engineering.

The scholarship recipient will be expected to provide proof of GPA and participate in a check in call with Pratt & Whitney Canada and EAA. The scholarship will be awarded to the educational institute of the recipient in their name. If your school is on the semester system you will receive payments at the beginning of each semester of $5,000. If your school is on the quarter system you will receive payments at the beginning of each quarter of $2,500. Recipient will also receive a one year EAA membership.
