SAVANNAH, Georgia, July 17, 2014 — Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. recently named Darrell Frey director of International Service Center Operations. He reports to Barry Russell, vice president, East Coast and International Service Center Operations.

In his new role, Frey oversees the company’s three international service centers in Beijing, China; Luton, England; and Sorocaba, Brazil.

“Darrell is in his 28th year with Gulfstream and has thorough knowledge of our multifaceted organization,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream Product Support. “Most of his assignments have been in the U.S., particularly in Savannah, but he has experience with both our domestic and international operations, having served as interim general manager of Gulfstream Brazil for seven months in 2012. He displayed the leadership and management skills required in such a challenging environment. We’re excited about this new chapter in his career.”

Prior to his new position, Frey spent 15 months as director, Regional Service Center Operations. In this capacity, he had operational responsibility for Gulfstream’s service centers in West Palm Beach, Florida, and Westfield, Massachusetts.

Before becoming a director, Frey was general manager of the Gulfstream Savannah Service Center from 2003 to 2011. During this time, he oversaw transition to a new, nearly 700,000-square-foot/65,032-square-meter facility that serves as Product Support headquarters.

While at Gulfstream, Frey has also been general manager of the Gulfstream West Palm Beach Service Center in Florida, an Operations manager, an airframe and powerplant (A&P) crew chief and an A&P technician in Savannah.

Frey, a former U.S. Navy serviceman, earned a degree in business administration from Trinity University. He is president of the Coastal Empire chapter of the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association. He is based at Gulfstream headquarters in Savannah.
