Gothenburg, Sweden, 14 July, 2014: SKF has signed a multi-year contract with Boeing for the delivery of a range of sealing solutions for Boeing commercial airplanes.  The contract is the result of an on-going value-engineering program between the two companies which leverages SKF’s experience in elastomeric development and Six Sigma.

“At SKF we're using our expertise in elastomeric technology to help engineers make products quieter, smoother, safer and more reliable. Our partnership with Boeing over the past years has been fruitful in delivering solutions that meet the needs of Boeing’s Partnering for Success objectives,” says Stephane Le Mounier, SKF Aerospace Business Unit President.

SKF will provide several versions of the SKF Aerospace Sealing Solution Isolator.  It is designed to carry heavy loads while absorbing, dampening and/or controlling large deflections occurring simultaneously in several directions.  It is produced by layering elastomers between shims of substrates and requires minimal maintenance and no lubrication.
