Minister Jacques Daoust Will Participate in the 49th Farnborough International Airshow

A Québec delegation comprising businesses and organizations in the aerospace industry will accompany him.

Montréal, July 10, 2014 – Minister of the Economy, Innovation and Exports Jacques Daoust will participate in the 49th Farnborough International Airshow in the United Kingdom, to be held from July 14 to 20, 2014. In the context of this economic mission, a Québec delegation comprising businesses and organizations in the aerospace industry will accompany him.

“Our government is proud to participate in this international airshow, which affords us the ideal opportunity to promote the know-how of Québec firms. It is also an excellent showcase for Québec’s advantages in the aerospace sector, in particular our qualified manpower and ability to innovate, and allows us to bolster our position as an industry leader at the international level,” Minister Daoust noted.

The Farnborough International Airshow will assemble over 1,500 exhibitors and bring together major stakeholders from the civil, military and business aviation sectors. It will welcome, among others, principal contractors, equipment manufacturers and specialized suppliers, as well as a number of recognized Québec aerospace firms such as Bombardier Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney Canada, Bell Helicopter Textron Canada and CAE. 

The biennial event will enable Minister Daoust to meet with representatives of businesses in the aerospace sector and promote Québec’s advantageous business environment among foreign investors.

During the mission, Québec aerospace firms will also be able to participate in linkage activities and consider possible partnerships.

It should be noted that Minister Daoust will be available to meet the media in London on:

  • Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 3 p.m.;
  • Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 12:30 p.m.
