San Antonio, TX (June 18, 2014) – Today, San Antonio International Airport unveiled the newly updated Terminal A, marking the completion of the $35.6 million renovation project. The renovated terminal now boasts a brighter, modern look throughout with all-new finishes, fixtures and furniture in all public areas.

Renovations to the 30-year-old Terminal A started two years after the newly constructed Terminal B opened. “With its updates, Terminal A now offers passengers a smooth transition as they navigate between terminals,” said Aviation Director Frank Miller. “We hope that the improvements help create a positive airport experience for our passengers.”

Some of the most visible improvements to Terminal A include the new terrazzo floors, updated food courts, renovated ticket lobby and hold rooms and changes to TSA’s queuing space which was designed to improve passenger flow. New signage, updated restrooms and new furniture complete the look. Improvements not visible to the general public include replacement of the terminal’s HVAC units and an extended fire sprinkler system.

SAT’s commitment to continuously improve its facilities is a direct link to the organization wide pledge to provide a first-rate experience. The Terminal A Renovation was funded through user and tenant fees and no City General Fund revenues were used to support the project.
