WSF Industries Introduces New Leaching Autoclave System for Caustic Cleaning of Parts and Components

May 30, 2014
The leaching autoclave system cleans industrial parts and components by mechanical agitation of an internal basket and other processes.

(MAY 2014) – Designed for operation with caustic solutions at elevated temperatures and pressures, a new leaching autoclave system from WSF Industries, Inc., Buffalo, New York, cleans industrial parts and components by mechanical agitation of an internal basket and other processes. The new system features a 30-inch I.D. x 48-inch vertical autoclave with a cooling coil, heating system, and WSF’s patented Rapidoor® quick-access closure for efficient  loading and unloading. The leaching autoclave handles maximum operating conditions of 450ºF (232ºC) at 400 psig.

Nickel-alloy construction and other special materials protect surfaces that come into contact with the caustic solution, WSF states. Supporting features include vacuum and fill systems, a caustic solution supply tank, a nitrogen/argon pressurization system, automatic timed venting and drainage systems, and an advanced PLC control panel.

According to WSF, the new leaching system controls and executes a core leaching cycle, with predetermined times, temperature, and pressure set points. It will perform caustic heating and pressurization, flash agitation, burp agitation, and mechanical agitation. The control panel features an operator interface terminal, digital controller programmer, status nameplate to display cycle, system, and door function status, and an electronic paperless recorder to display and record autoclave temperatures and pressures.
