The Aerospace Wiring Solutions (AWS) division of Projects Unlimited, Inc. was recently awarded Bell Helicopter’s new Bell 505 Jet Ranger X cabling project for flight test vehicles which will be used in support of Type Certification later this year.
The Projects Unlimited AWS division, which specializes in manufacturing branched cables, harnesses, and integrated assemblies for the aerospace industry, delivered preliminary cabling prototypes for the unveiling of the Bell 505 Jet Ranger X™ short light single (SLS) class aircraft at HELI-Expo 2014. The Bell 505 Jet Ranger X™ anticipates first flight late this year.
"PUI has been an exemplary addition to the Bell 505 Jet Ranger X team," said Supervising Engineer Jerry Pongratz. "PUI has expanded their service offerings to meet our needs and have exhibited the exact behaviors we seek in our suppliers to make our program successful."
The AWS division also recently achieved Nadcap accreditation (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) for Electronics Cable and Harness Assemblies (CHA) which is a quality assurance program focused on the cable and harness manufacturing processes used in the Aerospace market. This is the second Nadcap accreditation for Projects Unlimited. In 2013, the company achieved the Electronics accreditation for Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA) for their Aerospace Electronics division.
“It’s an exciting time in the Projects Unlimited AWS division as our capabilities are progressively being endorsed by prestigious quality programs like Nadcap and recognized by customers like Bell Helicopter and others,” said Chris Wyse, President and Chief Operating Officer at Projects Unlimited. “Our focus to grow the AWS division depends on new product introductions like that of Bell Helicopter’s 505 Jet Ranger X project. As we continue to innovate and refine our internal processes, we are seeing a nice uplift in new and exciting projects along with very satisfied customers.”
