Kelly Aviation Center is Now Lockheed Martin Commercial Engine Solutions

PHOENIX, Ariz., April 8, 2014 – Kelly Aviation Center, a leading provider of aircraft engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul for international commercial and military customers, has changed its name to Lockheed Martin Commercial Engine Solutions (LMCES), announced Amy Gowder, vice president and general manager of LMCES, at the MRO Americas conference today.

“Since 1999, we have been proud to be Lockheed Martin’s only jet engine MRO service provider,” said Gowder. “Over the past three years, our legacy of improving on-wing performance for the military has grown to include commercial customers. We believe our new name reflects that growth.”

Another major reason to change the company’s name was because last year’s acquisition of a second engine MRO facility in Montreal expanded the company’s customer base into additional international markets.

“By surveying our customers, we confirmed that the best business decision would be to change our name to Lockheed Martin – a brand recognized immediately throughout the world – and to include ‘commercial’ in the name to stress that our services extend beyond our historical U.S. military customer and because we can deliver cost reductions and affordability that come from implementing commercial best practices,” added Gowder.

Lockheed Martin Commercial Engine Solutions is a center of excellence for commercial and military aircraft engine maintenance, repair, overhaul and test, providing services for 11 different engines, including those that power the B737, B747, B767, A300, A320, DC-10, F-15, F-16, C-130, and regional jets such as the Bombardier CRJ.
