Michael Groiss (CEO of LIST components & furniture).
Lufthansa Technik AG and LIST components & furniture GmbH have founded the joint venture company INAIRVATION, in which each of the two companies holds a 50% stake.
The new company combines the experience of Lufthansa Technik as one of the world's leading providers of VIP aircraft cabin conversions and manufacturer of in-flight entertainment electronics with the expertise of LIST as an internationally acclaimed and sought-after manufacturer of high-end cabin interiors for private and business jets, luxury yachts, cruise liners and private residences.
INAIRVATION will offer innovative complete solutions for business and private jet cabins. Up to now Lufthansa Technik has supplied the cabin management system (in-flight entertainment electronics) and LIST cabin components such as galleys, armrests, fold-out tables etc. as independent suppliers to the aircraft manufacturer.
In the future when commissioned by a customer the two companies will together implement innovations that follow the theme of "Technology meets Cabin", with the aim of blending entertainment electronics, furniture and lighting together in an advanced design.
By combining the latest technology with perfectly fabricated interior components INAIRVATION will create cabin interiors for business and private jets that not only satisfy the highest visual requirements but also incorporate the latest technological developments.
On the occasion of the signing of the contract on 28 March 2014 at LIST's headquarters in Edlitz-Thomasberg in Austria, Dr. Johannes Bussmann, Chief Executive Human Resources, Engine & VIP Services at Lufthansa Technik, said: "Our VIP customers expect from us to deliver innovative products, absolute top quality and flawless implementation of the project. We are confident that with the foundation of INAIRVATION and the expertise of the two founding partners that flows into it we will achieve a new quality when it comes to combining cabin systems with the cabin interior in private and business aircraft."
Michael Groiss, CEO of LIST components & furniture, said: "We are proud to be able to enter into a partnership of equals with a prestigious partner such as Lufthansa Technik. As a result not only will we offer our customers unique, innovative added value, but in addition we will create about 100 new jobs at LIST here in Edlitz-Thomasberg alone."
The INAIRVATION company will be based in Edlitz-Thomasberg, Austria.
The two managing directors, Dr. Philip von Schroeter of Lufthansa Technik and Werner Kartner of LIST components & furniture, will have full entrepreneurial responsibilities. INAIRVATION will concentrate on the development, marketing and sale of design-integrated cabin interiors for business jets.
Apart from working with the two joint venture partners of LIST and Lufthansa Technik, the new company will collaborate closely with other prestigious suppliers from the areas of lighting technology and design to cover the full spectrum of cabin interior expertise.
The Lufthansa Technik Group, with more than 30 subsidiaries and associates and over 26,000 employees worldwide, is one of the leading providers of technical services for the aviation industry.
